How to make an Act of Spiritual Communion

If you can’t get to Mass, you can make an Act of Spiritual Communion:

  1. Make the Sign of the Cross
  2. Read the Mass readings
  3. Recite the Prayer of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and
unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.

MAHURU MĀORI CHALLENGE

During the whole month of September, our Vicar for Māori, Manuel Beazley has set us all a challenge to say the Sign of the Cross in Te Reo Māori every time we sign ourselves.

“Ki te ingoa o te Matua, o te Tamaiti, o te Wairua Tapu. Āmene.”

Will you take up the challenge? Scanning the QR will take you to a pronunciation guide. Visit www.facebook.com/KatorikaMaori/ to get the social media graphics to upload to your feeds to show that you are taking up the challenge.
